🌟 Featuring Alessandro Florio
Alessandro Florio is a researcher in Soil Microbial Ecology at the French National Institute for Agriculture, Food, and Environment (INRAE) in Lyon, France. His research lies at the intersection of microbial ecology and soil science, with a particular focus on microbial-mediated nitrogen transformations and their regulation in terrestrial ecosystems. His work explores the complex interactions between plants, microorganisms, and soils, emphasizing the activity, abundance, and diversity of nitrogen-cycling microbial communities. He is especially interested in how these microbial processes influence ecosystem functioning and contribute to ecosystem services, such as nutrient retention and greenhouse gas mitigation.
