Logan Hodgskiss
Postdoctoral Fellow
University of Vienna
Logan Hodgskiss recently completed his doctoral studies under the supervision of Christa Schleper and is currently a post-doctoral researcher in the Archaea Ecology and Evolution Group at the University of Vienna, Austria. His work focuses on exploring the physiology of the model ammonia oxidising archaeon Nitrososphaera viennensis using proteomics, transcriptomics, and metabolomics, with the aim to expand these studies in other AOA. In addition, he has performed biochemical investigations of the archaeal ammonia monooxygenase complex which revealed novel subunits. He has (co)authored 10 publications in peer-reviewed journals. Within the ACTIONr project, Logan contributed to Task 3.1 by collaborating with the UTH PhD student on the analysis of omics datasets to identify cellular responses and potential molecular targets of synthetic and biological nitrification inhibitors. He has also contributed to capacity-building by designing and leading advanced training courses for project participants.
Training activities within ACTIONr
