Kusum Dhakar is a budding microbial ecologist, continuously working to attain independence and increasing her skills and knowledge. The major focus of her scientific work is related to the diversity and ecology of microorganisms from various habitats, often from cold environments. During her PhD and postdoc, she worked on microbial ecology at various institutions in Israel and USA and published 16 papers in SI journals with 400 citations. So far, she has acquired skills to study microbiome of soils with significant traditional and advanced methods. For her research work, she got fellowships at different times from Govt of India (ICMR JRF & NPDF 2017) and ARO, Israel.
