Christina Hazard is a Principal Investigator in the Environmental Microbial Genomics group at École Centrale de Lyon. Her research focuses on examining the diversity, distribution, interactions, and activities of microorganisms (fungi, prokaryotes and viruses) in soil. Using a range of experimental systems from field-scale to controlled laboratory microcosm incubations analyzed using molecular ecology, ‘omic technologies and soil process measurements, projects aim to understand microbial contributions to biogeochemical cycling, with a particular focus on nitrogen transformation and loss in agroecosystems.
